We woke up at 8:30 to the sound of hammers and bright sunlight in our eyes. It was a good 8 hour sleep! If I could lay in bed all day I probably would, but we only have one day here so we were up early to make the best of it! We all took showered and headed up to the roof around 9:30 for breakfast. The view from the top of the roof in the morning was amazing!! Straight ahead was the beach and we could already see all the waves crashing! The beach continued all the way to the right until it reached the cliffs. To the left the beach continued along until it hit the fishing port. Between where we were and Agadir. We sat down for a nice home cooked breakfast by the hostel worker. It was cheese and bread and jam with a skillet of cooked onions and peppers and another skillet of some egg mashup. Definitely the best breakfast we've had, since all the others were basically just bread. After breakfast we decided to head into the city for a bit and come back to the hostel at 2pm for surf rentals and lessons. The town of Agadir was definitely more relaxed than Marrakech. We took a quick bus into the center and found a large store to do some quick grocery shopping. By grocery shopping, we meant booze shopping. We each bought a bottle of wine and Joe got some extra beers for himself! We also quickly grabbed some sunscreen and shampoo as well. We were now ready for the beach and for the night at the hostel! We walked around for a bit before finding a taxi to take us to the Souks. Unfortunately, we didn't know the main souks were closed on Monday. So we went to Artisan souks instead. Artisan souks are the souks where it's a fixed price and you can't bargain. This place had 6 floors though so it was cool to explore! They had everything from plates to clothes to genie lamps and rugs. We walked around for 40 minutes or so before realizing the place was over priced. We then found a nice cafe to grab some lunch before heading back to the hostel to surf. Lunch was great except for Valerie's salad. Valerie ordered a salad which was basically rice, carrots, potatoes, beets, and tomatoes. The weird part of the salad was that the dressing was mayo and ketchup. It was one of the most buzzard salads I've ever seen. But we ordered it so we had to eat it, it was... Interesting. It's 2pm and it's finally time to surf!! Alex, Lillian, and Valerie were all taking lessons while Joe and I were just renting. Joe and I quickly killed 2 beers before we left. We walked down to the surf store to get our wetsuits and then we headed to the beach! While the others went over to the right to learn to surf, Joe decided for us to go to the left where all the surfers were. I was not a happy camper and rightfully so, the waves were huge!!!! Of course all the surfers were over there, because they actually knew how to surf. Joe and I had taken lessons before but we were no experts. Joe got up once or twice!! I barely even body surged a wave because they were huge!! After a little while we headed back to see how the other girls were doing and to surf the smaller waves! Unfortunately, the tide was getting low do it was getting really hard to catch a wave. It was also crazy windy today so the waves were a lot harder than usual. It was still an absolute blast!! I came close to catching one but like I said, it was low tide so it was hard. We went smoking for a bit before Alex, Joe and I headed back to bring the surf boards back, change, and grab my camera for the sunset. Lillian and Valerie were in the water until 6:30 while we just sat and enjoyed the sunset view. It was a beautiful sunset on such a beautiful beach. Not to mention, the water wasn't too cold and was perfectly clear! There were no rocks in the water which was nice because I hate underwater rocks! After the beach we played some card games and drank wine on the roof before it was dinner time. Our dinner was beans and bread and vegetable tanjian. It was actually delicious! After dinner we sat on the roof and by the fire for awhile. We met a bunch of cool people, a German couple and two friends traveling from Australia. In total, we drank about 2 bottles of wine and had some hash joints being passed around. It was a fun and chill night, very hippie! Tomorrow we're off to paradise valley and I'm pumped!!
**Unfortunately I don't have many photos because I didn't bring my camera down to the beach during surfing because there was no one watching our stuff there**
