Sunset, sunrise and it's another beautiful morning. We awoke to the sound of drums playing at 6:30am for a quick breakfast and tea. Right out of our tent you can see the sun beginning to rise behind a plateau. The sky was a periwinkle blue and didn't have a cloud in sight. We grabbed our tea and bread and walked around the sand dunes while watching the sun come out from behind the plateau. It was absolutely gorgeous. We quickly had to grab our bags and hop on the camels to trek back to where our car will pick us up.

Squad on the camels

Riding the camel today was no easier than yesterday. This time, I was carrying the bag instead of my friend Alex, so the camel seemed a little lopsided. I got the hang of moving my hips back and forth with the camel but i have to say that it was awkward. We were basically dry humping camels pretty much, that's the best way to describe it. A half hour after riding the camels, we were back in the car for our journey back to Marrakech. I still don't mind the views, they

don't get old at all. Driving through the plateaus, the canyons looked like topography maps, the way the sentiment was lined from the bottom to top. Looking down at the canyon you could see where the river would usually run, but it's currently all dried up. You could tell where water falls were and every twist and turn, I can only imagine what it is like when there really is water.

We continue to drive through so many town, some that look abandon because they're so poor. It's so interesting to watch how these towns work. Little kids playing in the Alleyways, barely any women are walking around the streets, plenty of men working by the palm trees with their donkeys. We drove through one town where they were sitting outside and weaving fences and mats. Despite having to be in a car for so long, it's so cool to drive through and see all the mountains and canyons and plateaus and towns and everything we wouldn't be able to see just in Marrakech and the other cities.

We made a stop along the way to this UNESCO heritage site! The bridge had a beautiful river running under it where people were horseback riding and playing!

Finally back in Marrakech and we're off to find our way to Essaouira! It's Sunday and the markets in Marrakech are bumpin! It is so unbelievably crowded for a Sunday! I guess Friday is their version of Sunday in the US so we walked around Marrakech in their down town. It was really cool to see what the markets are like when it's not a Friday but I'm definitely a little excited to head out towards the coast and see what the more mellow towns are like!

We went to go catch a bus to Agadir bus turns out we just missed it and we're going to have to wait 2 hours. We decided to see how much a grand taxi would cost, since I remembered reading online it was cheap. The taxi guy started off day it would be around 2,000 in total for 5 people. We managed to haggle him down to 1,200 for all of us. Let me tell you, this taxi ride was the strangest ride of my life. We drove around 20 minutes outside Marrakech before our driver pulled over and got out of the car and started talking to someone else. We weren't too sure what was going on until all the sudden our driver told us we were switching cars. This was all very very odd but we went with it. Turns out our new driver was from Agadir and was willing to take us straight to our hostel! He told us his nickname was "Ali Baba" and then chuckled. The sketchiest part was that he was driving about 40 below the speed limit. Everyone was flashing their lights and passing us but little did we know it was because it was incredibly windy on the highway. We drove passed a car accident a little further up and our driver told us that the car in the accident was one that sped by him and the wind must of caught the car.

When we were finally in Agadir we had to go to a small village north for our hostel. When we first pulled up, it looked so sketchy. We could not find the hostel and we're driving around for 10 minutes in a neighborhood looking for it. We finally found the tiny sign that said lunar surf house, and here we were. Before the taxi driver had pulled away, he stopped and gave Joe some free hash.

The hostel is sweet! No shoes, no shirt, no problm. This hostel almost gave off the feel of a Cali surfer. Surfer bro's everywhere. Walking in the stairs are covered with sand and lined with surf boards. We walked our way up to our room, which was luckily right across from the showers for after surfing! The hostel worker brought us up to the 360 panoramic roof. It was beautiful!! The hippies feels were real up here. You have one area under a cover. By cover, I mean multiple tapestries tied to poles, it was awesome!! The other area was open and under the stars. You had multiple benches and chairs and then a fire pit in the center. The other corner was where all the wet suits and towels were hung up. Safe to say, this place was exactly what we wanted. People everywhere we smoking hash and drinking wine, for the hostel it was cool to do that, but definitely not outside the hostel. It was pitch black so we can't see the view of the beach which makes it all the more exciting to wake up tomorrow! We stayed up on the roof with people for a bit but we crashed pretty early since it was a long day for us. I'm excited to see what tomorrow will bring!!
